homelite

i no this is a welders forum, i have a homelite xl old saw, are they anygood, compared to the modern saw, will it keep up with a new still, with a new bar and chain,.. . anyone got experience with saws are they hard broken down and fixed

I had an old homelite saw but sold it.

Big old heavy beast, no chain brake or anything like that, 22" bar iirc.

Was a pig to start. but once going was a beauty.

There are tons of parts for them on ebay. I see piles of them when i go looking for saws at least on this side of the pond. People love them over here...Bob

Good homelites are OK & no harder than any other saw to maintain, assuming you can get parts. (and get them cheaply enough)

otherwise a new stihl or husquivana will cause you less grief than any other makes IME.

i thought new huskys were not great? bloody petrol in the homelite will boil from the heat of the combustion.

must admit I have not had a new husky for a few years...... my preference has always been stihl
