so we have all seen the home made sheet metal folders made from 3 bits of angle ect they are normally about 18"=2ft long and work well enough to do the job.
i need one 6-8ft long to bend 1mm zintec sheets and if possible 1.6 mild thou this might be asking a lot.
nay Sayers will say "just buy one" but something this size is about 2k and thats not something i have for this job, what i do have is a LOT of heavy 6 and 8 inch by 1/2 inch angle, 10x160 flat bar and some thicker stuff and plenty bit of rsj (any sizr you could ever want upto 7"x14 and channels.
so is their any reason a big sturdy home made bender would not work with plenty of bracing ect?
i think i remember reading you need 40 tons or pressure to bend 8ft of 1.6mm
