Hole in my welly

Got a small hole/cut in my right welly(don't ask me how),not on the sole but on the top,these are my work wellies only a year old steel toes/soles etc, cost me £30, am or don't want to chuck them as they're good boots.
What sort of repair could i do,would a hot knife be ok,is it that type of rubber for that or is there some sticky stuff etc out there that will sort it?

Puncture repair kit? or maybe take it down to your local tyre place and see if they can plug it or something?

Have tried the hot knife trick and did not work very well, it just melts such a thin layer they split again....well mine did.

I repaired mine with some tigerseal of all things. Though I don't know wether all wellies are the same type of rubber

I don't think they are made from vulcanised rubber anymore, so I doubt a puncture repair kit would work. I think they are PVC so perhaps a inflatable boat/rib repair kit would be better.

tiger seal or as it's known sikaflex does take 24 hours to fully cure though

Try an outdoor/sports shop - they sell repair kits for fishing waders. In fact, if you're stuck, I think I have one lying around in the shed.

There's tubes of stuff that gets marketed under a variety of names; Aquasure springs to mind.

I remember the old man repairing wellies with a bicycle puncture repair kit, but as stated they're no longer made of rubber. What about a hot melt glue gun?

Shoe repair. You get it from the shoe repair places. Dries clear and tough.

We mended my friend's shooting wellies with a motorbike tyre patch and it lasted ages, might not work too well on a bit that bends a lot though.
