Hobbyweld 5 or Hobbyweld 15

Hi Guys
Awaiting delivery of my Portamig 215 and just wanted to check opinions on which gas to go for-Hobbyweld 5 or Hobbyweld 15.
As a complete novice do you think it would be better to work with thicker metal (5 mm plus) and therefore go for the Hobbyweld 15 or would Hobbyweld 5 be a better choice.
I don’t anticipate doing lots bodywork just general fabrication.

I use couger5 and have welded thicker than 5mm no issue. As your machine has got a bit of power to it the added heat of more co2 will not be that Important

Ok Madkayaker - Thanks for your response I will go for the Hobbyweld 5 as I think their offer is the best deal for a weekend user - £60 deposit and £35 refill from a dealer in Odiham, Hants

I think you'd be better with 15
I use 5 on bodywork and thin metal a lot and to be honest it's perfect for that.
I havent used 15 but they advertise it for thicker materials

I would use hobby 5 up to about 7 mm weld depth and 15 for above that

I am about to convert to using Hobbyweld and will be mostly working on steel below 4mm. The Hobbyweld site clearly states that '5' is the mix to use. However my nearest supplier does not stock the '5' mix and recommends the '15' mix. He says it will be suitable for my needs i.e. from 1 mm upwards.

Can anyone who has used Hobbyweld 15 agree or disagree with this view.
