Hobby machinists move in exalted circles

I have had numerous calls lately from customers wishing to move heavy bits of machinery on pallets.
One really nice chap booked us to move a Wadkin table saw up to the West Coast of Scotland. Taking early retirement and starting a woodworking business/hobby. He is a consultant anaesthetist. Another chap we moved a small CNC milling machine for was a 747 pilot for BA just retired. And just took a call from a brilliant chap who is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon. He wants us to move a Deckel milling machine. Had a great chat with him. He has a Smart and Brown 1024 and several Rivet 608 lathes amongst others
Apparently even Queen Victoria had her own lathe - a rose engine!

I recall back in the day when eldest was into Series Land Rovers. The Forum membership had a weirdly wide demographic too.

there are also exhaulted machines within lowly sheds..it works both ways

this means only one thing - buy everything that looks like a lathe and milling machine under a layer of dirt. The profession of turning teacher may be in demand.
