hitachi angle grinder set

Hi all, just seen this on ebay:

its a 115mm & a 230mm for £89... thoughts? Never used any hitachi gear so unsure of quality?

For that price, cant be bad.
Not the full on industrial end of the range, but for £90.....

I paid about £35 for the same 115 ages ago.


In general, i have never had a problem with the stuff, most of my own gear is Hitachi. And seems to be that, and Blue Bosch that stand the test of time at work.

yeah i'm thinking it might be just the trick, my 115mm is all but knackered and sometimes i need a 230mm.

doesn't have to be full industrial strength, it's just for home not work...hmmm, i'll brood over this one for a bit i think!

have a hitachi 115 angle grinder 1995, about 1100watts. Has been brilliant and would recommend, cost £75 at a tool show. Also have a Parkside "lidl" 115, not as powerful, has soft start (yuck!) for brutal jobs, especially finger tips: have failed to kill it. Not bad for £14.99 and 3 years warranty

Hitachi gear is usually very good, I have a Hitachi 230mm G23UBY and it is the best 230mm I have ever used, and that is over 40 years of welding and grinding using various grinders, I also have 2 x Bosch 125mm GWS15-125CITH which I also am impressed with, but all of these are not cheap.
I got these after getting tired of accumulating a graveyard of dead grinders. Hope this helps.

Ive used lots of different brands of power tools over the years(esp Dewalt/Makita) with me being a Joiner. Tbh I mainly use cordless but i have replaced almost all of my tools with Hitachi gear now. As the remaining gear breaks that will also be replaced with Hitachi. hth.
