High temperature, food grade lubricant.

Our oven has fancy drawer slides for the shelves but mum's just cleaned it and now they aren't very smooth and they sound like they're grinding. Unless any of you know of a better solution, we need some kind of lubricant that will resist about 300°C and is food safe. Food wouldn't ever touch it but I think it should still be food safe.

tell your mam to stop using the spray foam oven cleaners...there very very corrosive and taking the metal finnish off. Ive banned them from my house as i even had to replace a pair of hinges on the oven door which had been ate away by cleaners

Just for a try, give a bit veg oil a go can't see it doing any harm.

I know you can get food grade oven chain lube.... seems a bit extreme though...

Just wipe a bit of lard in there?

I believe 'food grade graphite' is actually hexagonal boron nitride? http://www.arco.co.uk/textsearch/Fa...ation/Food Industry Lubrication/?pcatid=-8616 has various things for lubing bearings in rack slides and chains in industrial ovens, as said maybe a bit extreme but might work better than some cooking oil etc... i'm thinking they may make things worse after a few heat cycles?

food grade silicone grease its verry high temperature
