High temp paint for gun

Hey, I want to spray one of my metal projects with high temprature paint. But, I do not want to use spray cans as they cost a bomb and I have a fair bit to pain. So my question, can I buy a pot of high temp paint, mix 50/50 with thinners and use my air spray gun.

I'm sure ive seen pots of it advertised before. Maybe on ebay. Not sure about thinners etc needed though, only ever used rattle cans for the likes of bbq's

Adding a flammable product, Thinners, to high temp and presumably flame resistive paint, sounds highly counter productive.

Having said that, I've no real knowledge of spraying yet..

afaik it is only flammable in liquid form, but in not sure if there is a special thinners needed for high temp paints

Apparently standard thinners won't cut the mustard, although I don't know if this is "sales hype" or not.

Might just bite the bullet and buy cans. Rather not screw up my gun or the prodgect for that matter

halfords and the like sell engine enamel and exhuast paint in tins

how hot will it get ..normal paint stands up to some fair temps anyway

My mate wanted to try out a spray gun he got recently, never sprayed before...shops shut....no paint except an aerosol...
He inverted the can, sprayed to release all the gas, then cut the aerosol open and used that in his spray gun !

Worked much better than just the aerosol, so last resort you could do that!

[celly thinners will work on most paints even household gloss .it may be flamable but evaporates when the paint is dry

yes just do a test piece 1st though as depending what undercoat is on it may react

50/50 sounds too much....mix the 2 parts of omi cron however they tell you then try 10% first and keep adding it until its sprayable

if its only a one coat celly thinners will probably do it at a fraction of the cost just mix a tiny amount and paint some on . there bound to want to sell u there exorbitently priced thinner for it . as long as it mixes with the paint it will evaporate when dry.
