How much of an advantage is this?

I was watching a video on the Everlast 315
I understand it is a very similar model to the R rech welders?

The Rtec has a maximum of 500hz v 750hz for the Everlast. Does it matter? And the Oxford only goes to 250hz - again does it matter? Or is it just a case of playing at numbers?

Hi,
I think it does´t matter if 400 or 700hz. It´s the middle frequency pulse range.
The effect is a slightly better arc control and it has also some positive metallurgical effect on the pool (EWM states in a longer article from 2002 about different pulse frequencies). It should also help with tacking (melting the two melted spots together). I like the sound more than the sound higher frequencies cause.

Above 1 Khz the arc pressure (in german Lichtbogendruck, I don´t know the english word) is increased, and the arc is more stable and concentrated.

At hz of 200 plus you are essentially tightening the arc.
The difference between 500 and 750 is going to be hardly noticeable apart from the higher pitch noise at 750. The more hz you throw at it the more stable and constricted the arc becomes but that sort of difference between hz isn’t going to effect what you can achieve with a pulse. Even 250 hz is going to give you the benefit of speed pulse welding (reduced heat input, reduced distortion and increased travel speed). Don’t stress about those numbers.
