I'm always impressed with the breadth of knowledge on this forum, so I'm on the knock again for some advice !
I need to filter water pumped from my newly discovered bore hole (*) to prevent the brazed plate heat exchanger that I will be passing it through clogging up. The water is for cooling, it is NOT for drinking, and once passed through the heat exchanger will be discharged to a local stream. The water is known to have a high iron content.
So - selecting a filter: I need to pass 45 litres a minute minimum - what pressure - I have no idea as I haven't yet got the pump, but 'adequate' !
But it seems VERY hard to get actual figures - sellers refer to 'high flow' rates in some cases but not backed by figures.
Today I've acquired a HUMONGOUS heat exchanger, well overkill for the application, but it would be nice not to block it !
(* turns out the bore hole is 175 foot deep - I started pumping it out and discovered rungs to climb down when I'd lowered the level a few feet !!!)
