hi was wondering if any one can help is it possible to use a standard petrol generator to power a small mig welder would be used mostly for car body work was looking at 3.2 kva would be trying it with a cosmo 130 so wouldn't be too upset if it blew up any help would be much appreciated

Need a bit more power around 5.5KVA with AVR

thanks for reply would I still need that sort of size as id be using pretty much the lowest settings I also have a small inverter arc welder would I be better off using that with a generator

difficult to say, to be on the safe side id go atleast 5.5
