hi Metal spikes

looking for some metal spikes around 230mm long going from say 25mm to a point anyone know were could get something like this or how could make them?? thanks

Round bar and a grinder would be my first idea

If you know of a Blacksmith in you'r area that's you'r man to make them pointing and tapering bars is one on the most basic forging skills

i dont wanna spend to much time making the points myself so using a grinder is out of the question. yeah blacksmith is an idea just thought buy now there would be some sort of company that you can get spikes of the shelf. would it take long for blacksmith to make a spike???? also would they be pretty strong after the hole blacksmith process??

Look on eBay 110979188662. You could make them with a big hammer after you have heated with oxy fuel

Time depends on what kit the smith has one man and a hammer may take a while lets say 15-20 minutes maximum just a guess from my small experience forging never worked anything as big as 25mm, if the smith has a striker with a sledge probably about half that time but if you find a smith who works a lot heavier material like 25mm he may have a power hammer so would take minutes. as far as strength goes my under standing is that it would be as strong if not stronger any form of making the spike my removing material from a bar.

Had to make about dozen longish square spikes back along.

24g belt in a decent linisher made fairly short work of them.

Maybe something like a short tine off a bale spike could be cut down to size if you're going to weld them on.

Any self respecting blacksmith will be able to pump them out using a powerhammer.

Buy them in or get it done by a blacksmith. Strength will depend on the material, not so much on the actions of the blacksmith.
