Hi, I'm a rookie and need to know if it's possible to weld two parts!

These two parts will be made of steel and need to be connected. I don't know if it's possible two weld this and if it is how I would go about doing it.

Hi, thanks for the response. It would be used to stabilise a larger structure. It's 1 meter (3,2 ft) long. It would probably be (galvanized) steel.

It is a very strong joint, and low profile, whereas wirh MIG or TIG there will be a noticeable bead of weld (less so TIG).

If you're getting someone else to do it I wouldn't imagine so.

Welding galvanised steel is not a good idea, because of the toxicity of the zinc fume given off. Better to weld the components as plain steel first and then galvanise.

As shown in the drawing, the structure looks quite thin and springy. Not sure, without further information, how that would stabilise a larger structure.
