HI Apex Phil here.
I am new to forum I am all about painting bike fairings but still very inexperienced.
I have recently built a dedicated 'spray room'. It is 7ft x 12 ft. and 6 ft at top of walls. The room is insulated and has an infra red heater. Also has a large extractor fan and inlet vent. both filtered with glass filter currently.
I plan to use 2k paint quite a lot. For this I have a 'sperium' air fed mask with filter pack. I run a 3 hp 14cfm Wolf 90 litre compressor with a Clarke water trap and copper pipe plus drain valve set up. I have 3/8 hose and a Devilbiss SLG £60 1.3 gun at the moment.
Does my overall set up sound decent? What could I improve?
I was using 2k primer today and the finish was seemed quite dry and dusty a with a heck of alot of overspray, then I remembered I had forgot to set the comp to 90 psi and was running at 70psi (approx 1 bar).!!
On this topic, Do I need to more psi to run air fed mask and the correct 2 bar for the gun?
Thanks for thoughts.
