Its nearly that time of year (Mid September) when the Heritage Open Day events are. this may be of interest to people who like local history or have tours of historical places that are normally closed or guided walks and they are free too.

for me, I could go on a guided tour of the place where I work (it used to be the worlds largest carpet factory), a visit to Shibden Hall, which was the home of Ann Lister (Gentleman Jack on tv), a look around the industrial museum that I volunteer at ( well I can go free anyway, but they know I only go for the cake) and as an extra they are running vintage buses around the area too, and all for free (or course donations will always be accepted).
think I'll just do the bus trips, and volunteer at the museum too, but someone might find something of interest in their local area.
