Interesting how the bloke who design the Henry had worked at Powrmatic and wanted a vacuum cleaner for cleaning out boilers. I’ve cleaned out loads of powrmatic heaters with my Henry

in the text he says it’s a 2” oil drum thread. This may help someone - there was a thread a couple of days back asking about the coupler I think.

Thanks for that. I have just been and measured it and I think he may be incorrect. The thread has the same major dia. as 2" BSP (very close to 60mm) but is way coarser than 11tpi. Best I could fit was 4mm pitch.

There's different oil drum threads. IME the ones in metal 205 litre drums are 2"BSP and the ones in plastic 205 litre drums might not be. IBC spouts can be the same as those on 20 or 25 litre plastic drums.

As you say the plastic drums are a far coarser thread than the steel drums.

I went looking at those before I posted. Plastic drum threads seem to be DIN 61/31. If you find a drawing of them, you will see they are a buttress thread not a vee thread (Madame Hetty seems to have rounded crests) and 6mm pitch, so coarser than my pink lady.

What a great article! I have 4 Henry's, one for upstairs one for downstairs one for the workshop and one that I've just fixed.
