HELPPP! SIP Autoplus 160 just stopped working

Hi All,

Have done a load of heavy welding with my Autoplus 160 today, suddenly it stopped working.

It turns on, lights up and the fan runs, but when you pull the trigger nothing happens, any ideas??? Is there a thermal cutout? if so, how long before it'll come back on?

Or is it something more serious??

Thermal cutout should come on around after half-hour to an hour, depending on temperature in the workplace, I think.

I had the contacts fuse together in a SIP once, this can happen after constant heavy load, so check those. The unit is usually (used to be) in a see-through plastic box, which can be unscrewed and replaced.

Some have a fuse too, but if that had gone I don't think the fan would be working.

Make sure it's all switched off before you go inside the case! Should be someone along soon more knowledgeable about SIPs...

well it came back on, so I assume thermal overload did it's job, it took a good 10 minutes before it worked again though.
