what's the best way to get a bit of metal outof your eye without going to the doctors

If it doesn’t come out with a good rinse then you MUST go to A and E. Not the doctor.
If you poke and prod about at it you could only embed it further. If you do nothing the eye will start to repair over it making removal at A and E an even nastier process. Give it a rinse first. No joy? Then down to the hospital

It'll have to be in the morning then I thought I got it out this morning it taught me a lesson not to wipe your face with a rag that's sat next to your drill press and it had to be my good eye it went in

Longer you leave it the harder it becomes for the pro’s to remove it. Eyes are clever things. They begin healing and forming the damaged layer back almost immediately. Problem with that is they also heal over the top of embedded foreign bodies.

I don't drive so I'll have to wait until tomorrow I don't think my Honda cub will fare to well with the snow

Fair enough. I hope it’s not too uncomfortable for you through the night.
Do you have someone at home that can rinse it.
There is a technique but it requires a second person.
If it’s in your left eye you rest your left cheek on the sink and tip your head back.
Person number two holds your eyelids open and pours a good couple of pints of Luke warm water over the bridge of your nose. The water will channel over your eye standing a fair chance of washing it out. It’s much more effective way than pouring directly on the eye. But needs another person.

We've tried getting it out I thought I had didn't feel a thing all day so didn't bother doing anything Gil tonight and I can feel it but it won't come out its in my right eye and that's the only eye I could see properly from its a bit of drill swarf so should have came out easy

If you can't see it then it may well have come out but the surface of the eye is scratched and as it heals you will feel it.
Having said that, even if that is the case still get it checked out tomorrow to make 100% sure.

It is still in I can just see it right at the back of my eye and feel it moving from one side to the other if you rub it

Don’t rub it!!!!
That’s the worst thing you can do.
One trick if it’s still floating about is to pull your top eyelid down as far as you can and keep rolling your eye round.
That will sometimes loosen it and leave it sat on the edge of your bottom eyelid so you can wipe it off with a rolled up damp tissue.
If it’s embedded then you only have one option, get yourself off to hospital pronto.
The longer you leave it the likelihood is it’ll go rusty and you’ll end up with a rust ring on your eyeball that will also need sorting out.

Deffo A&E, even if you think it is out now, They have a special eye drops that shows up any defects, If it is left in and the eye heals over it there will be problems down the line if you ever need an MRI scan for other medical reasons, GO Now.!!!

Couple of weeks ago I got a bit in my eye grinding in work Wednesday ,optrexed it , thought I had got it out ,carried on,was sore that night but just thought I had scratched the eyeball,worked the next day again that night eye was really painful in bed, Friday morning went to AE,the t got a chunk out.
I hurt the next few days,Thurs i was at the eye clinic as it was killing me and they got some more out ,had to wear a patch for two days..

as a season ticket holder to eye A&E whole heartedly agree with the go directly to A&E, do not pass go, do not collect £200 advice.
However in times gone by you could maybe have relied on one of these.
