Hi just seen this forum and needed help

im a trainee welder/fabricator im looking for a cheap welder around £150 that will weld 20x20 3mm box section maybe 4mm just to train in the back on my days off

never used a gas-less so don't know if i could "use" it aswell as a gas one

any help you could give would be great

I've been a welder for over 20yrs & my advice is look at the Clarke range of mig set's, I've tried 4 or 5 different makes over the years & Clarkes win every time.
I have one now, it's robust, reliable, economic, never overheats & does exactly what it say's on the tin (lol).
On the Gasless side of things again my advice would be don't bother with it, I tried it once & never bothered with it again, most gasless mig's will run gas as well though so if you can nail a secondhand gasless set, that would be worth it.
