Some twentyfive years ago I purchased a Solar 125 and have used it for many restoration projects with success but now I can lay a clean bead for only about twenty minutes and then bird crap. Any ideas on what may be wrong? Lost

It sound like you may have a poor connection that is breaking down under load/heat. Try looking for signs of heat/burning/dis-colouring on the connections in the m/c (WITH POWER OFF!). Check for loose connections inc the earth lead and it's clamp. The voltage must be dropping off and then it's like you are on the lowest setting. How long befor you can start welding again? If you have capacitors in the m/c check there connection. Do a search for recent post ref capacitors. Post pic of inside of m/c
