Help with welder wiring.

Hi.

I've been lurking for some time while looking for a welder I need to put my mini back into shape.

I found a big welder for cheap money, so I bought it. It is an ESAB A10 LAG200 welder.

Anyway, it is not wired up, so I don't really know if it works or not.

it is not wired.

How should I wire it? I know very little about electrics.
It can take three wires, but to get to 400V I should use 5 wires right?

if t doesn't need a neutral then it needs 4 wire (3 lives and an earth) i know very little about the wiring requirements in Denmark so can't comment further. best to contact a local electrician

You need to know what combinations are required for "R", "S" and "T"...

Probably R = Primary or Root, S = Secondary and T = Tertiary or Third...

Contact ESAB, their technical department should be able to help...

it wont matter which way the phases are connected as its a transformer and the wire feed will be DC from a supply transformer through a rectifier

Fair point... I was meaning with reference as to what needed to be connected where, there's other connectors besides those three according to the parts and wiring diagram...

Just noticed from the parts list, there's probably an automatic smoothing and induction units built into that model aswell...

Rasped, as you appear to have the A10 wire feeder, contact ESAB, they have a contact section for support...
