help with vfd

i havd been trying to setup a askpower a131 vfd on a weels index milling machine it will startup
but only seems to run very slow its single input three phase output 220 volts in single phase 220 volts three phase out ????


any help is greatly appercatied

Is the motor or Star of delta?
What is the frequency of the vdf output?

Have you connected the correct value of pot to control the speed? If you have no pot you usually have to fit links to by pass it and run via the keypad.(don't know your particular type but that's for drives in general)

Star delta shouldn't matter for no load you just get half torque (ish) on star.

Hello Cobbler

do you have a manual so you can check and set the parameters. There are usually dozens but for the most part the default setting is fine. You need to set your required frequency and motor size. If you have no manual try Google as most manufacturers make them available as a down load. You should be able to display the output frequency so you know what the drive is doing.

Well yeah that's why you get the reduced torque because you're running the motor at reduced volts in star

My point is that a 415v induction motor doesn't run slow if it's wired star on a 240-out vfd.

Thanks for all the advice i think i have it figured out im gonna try to install a pot and toggle switches to tey and make it work (fingers crossed ) lol if i dont blow it up Funny how all that Smoke comes outa lil bitty chips lol
