Help with Fronius Magic Wave 2000 fuzzy

I have the chance to purchase this Fronius machine. Here in the state it has very little following and no support. The machine looks to be in good working order. Is there somewhere in England for me to purchase torch consumables
I have found the user guide online and read it. i would like any input on the welder... good--- great on ac? Type of wave forms ... Sine or Square..

Most use a WP17 or WP26 torch and consumables (Air cooled). Similar for water cooled.


Are there any markings on the torch?

Tony, Fronius are a highly valued make over here. You won't find a bad word said about them.

As Scott says, the torch consumables will be standard items.

As said above the Fronius machines are top banana. I know someone who has two in regular use and has never had any problems in 8 years.

Weldcraft?

The Magic wave 200 has the hand control > I have not purchased the welder as of yet.The number you refer to are they Weldcraft? . The unit also comes with a special stainless steel cleaner that is operated from the magic wave. I know nothing about the cleaner and how it works.

I used to own a Fronius 200A DC Tig set, until some thieving git stole it, one of the best sets i've ever used and very reliable. The torch was the manufacturers own one with HF trigger and current up / down switches, although i did use it mostly with a WP17 as that is my preferred torch. Fronius have their own website but i think you have to be a registered dealer to get any support.

Fronius are a very good make and that Machine, the Magicwave 2000 was an excellent machine, its been out of production for about 7 or 8 years now.

You can use a standard torch on it (with an adaptor) but the genuine torch that came with it, would of had a current control wheel, that increased or lowered the amps.

The cleaning thing is called a Magic Clean and you plugged the wand in and it used electrolysis to clean the discolouration from the weld and welded area.

Requires special fluid and special cloths that go on the end of the wand. From memory it wasn't great, but no reflection on the machine itself.

Will it work on your electricity supply? It will be 230v 50-60Hz.

US is 110/220, usually closer to 240V (234 average). He would have to have a 220V outlet wired.

I have looked into the power issues for this machine. It should work fine with our 220 - 240 volt power. the manual shows from 175 to 265 as the allowable range. If I understand the manual right the ac wave forms can be modified.
I think I will take a chance on this welder. I would be very interested in the pulsing unit fronius tr 50 mc. I anyone has a leed on it I would like to know about it. Thank you for all of your help

i have a little fronius torch top stuff, fronius helped Miller get to world class standard with their inverter tech (maxter 140 is a blue fronius). the miller pcb's in the xmt high end inverters are fronius design. i think the magic fuzzy can be used also to clean stainless.

contact fronius online and they will send you details of your nearest dealer, fronius themselfs have a office building somewhere in the u.s. i think maybe even in the mid west. there stuff is not cheap then either is miller etc when you go for the top line stuff. a lot of fronius parts can be got from www.ebay.de (germany/austria).
