Hi all
Newbie here, i am currently restoring a 61 Morris Minor and inherited a Ideal 180 sip mig welder. All was working well today with even more welds holding to burning holes
Then it started to play up the wire feed started to get erratic before stopping, I switched off and cleaned the torch then turned back on and it fed but the burn was very weak with it hardly making a 'arc' before it packed up completely and died.
The settings I was using was reel speed 2 and power at 1 with all other dials at zero.
It has .8 wire and I was welding 1.2mm steel to the existing floor panel.
I have checked the fuse in the plug and that is OK as is the supply to the socket.
Is this fixable or has it reached the end as it is quite a old unit?
TIA
Steve
