help strange gas issue

hi all, welding some mild steel like i have done a thousand times before but getting really blobby / spitty welds like the gas is running out. But the gauge on the bottle says it has about 38 bar of pressure left and there is a good supply coming out of the nozzle. ive tried turning the gas up, changed the tip and checked the wire is clean and running smoothly. the steel is the same as i always use and clean and bright. i have had the gas bottle a while, could the gas have got a bit dirty towards the end? its pub gas co2

think i have sorted it - wire speed controller had been knocked right up to max. doh!

I regularly had the opposite problem with a weldset at work, the torch harness would drag across the speed knob turning it down

I had a similar thing last weekend - turned out the tension on the wire feed roller had slackened off somehow. I thought it was a gas issue too!

yeah odd one it was JUST like when i have forgotten to turn the gas on plus im constantly thinking this bottle has got to run out soon. was a JOY to weld once id readjusted it!

Yeah so was mine. Until I'd sussed out what was going on, it felt like I'd never welded before!
