Hi All,
I feel a bit stupid but I'm getting nowhere on my own.
I've been welding now for a few months practicing on scrap. I was running in gasless mode on my SIP T166. I finally graduated to doing some welding on my 66 mustang which went 'ok' (see pictures). I have a huge amount of welding to do on the car so took the forum's advise and splashed out the 300 euro for gas, regulator etc.
My problem is that I am struggling to hook up the gas with the hose. It seems way to loose and the jubilee clips (different types and sizes) don't seem to be able to compress the hose at all. I can hear gas escaping out the tail on the welder itself. I bought the hose, regulator and tail from the same company and they said just use jubilee clips but it just doesn't seem to all fit together.
My question is can I buy hoses that have quick connect/disconnect fittings for both ends and if so does anyone have any links as I got muddled looking at everything on line. If these don't exist, is there any reason I can't use much more flexible rubber which should compress a lot easier?
I've attached pictures of hose/connections.
Any and all help appreciated!!
