help please

I have had an idea and could do with some advice.
The idea is to have a tube pass through the top of my woodburner with a 4" inline fan blowing the air through, heating the air in the process. This would then help to heat quite a large room. This is where i need the help, I don't want to use 4" tube in the burner but something smaller maybe 3", any reccomendations? I would also need an adapter from the tube to 4"
Would this make a noticable change in temperature in the room?

A couple of mods I did on a homemade stove which worked quite well:
1.A rectangular piece of metal sheet, length equal to circumference of the flue pipe, ie Pi x dia, with a 90* fold along the long side about 1" from edge. from the other long edge, cut every inch to this folded edge. Then wrap and secure around the flue pipe so that "fingers" stuck out. I put 4 sets and there was a noticeable difference in flue temp, so it must have worked. However it gathered a lot of dust!
2. Later, we fitted another stove in a different part of the same barn, around the 6" flue pipe, we fitted a 9" pipe and closed the ends, cut two holes, one at top, one at bottom to each take a 4" flex gas liner, ie 1in and 1out. on the inlet side a 4" bathroom extractor fan was fitted to blow from the room, through the heat exchanger(?) into a loft. This worked really well, the flex liner from the blower to the exchanger was some 4ft long, we really did not want the fan to get heated. At best it was as good as a fan heater and
it lasted for many years.

Both stoves were home made, the first one cost £18 for the cut 3/16" sheet, and the second was out of two oil drums. You can tell we're not afraid to spend!

It's good to hear you had good results, I plan on doing the same but with the tube passing through the top of the burner horizontaly with the fan on the inlet side so its not moving the hot air. Now to source some 3" tube and a couple of adapters. I have the fan already.
