Help needed shifting a Mill

Anyone in the Stoke-on-Trent area know anyone that can help move a Mill - or anyone in the Midlands.

I'm in the process of buying a Mill but access is limited - down a gravel track to the workshop - so most contractors have said they can't do it.

Total weight is 700kg +/- minus a bit - its on a pallet. Just needs shifting......

Its a long story so PM me if you have any thoughts and i can explain the situation i'm in.

There was a guy on Ebay used to advertise with a transit pickup and hijab specialised in mills, would the gravel path take a transit?

Ive been on Ebay and had a word with someone - unfortunately he was in the the wrong part of the country to help.

Yes gravel path is ok for transit type vehicle.

Also id like to add - i'm willing to pay expenses for any help....... shifting the Mill, not just for the info.....

I see you are on the island of Jersey, otherwise I would say give Steve Cox a call at Landy Lift machinery moving. He has a small lorry set up to get into tight places but is on the UK mainland.

The Mill is on the mainland.... Stoke on trent - I just need a hand to get it picked up from the sellers address and delivered to a road where my haulage contractor can meet them and then bring it over to me.

My haulage contractor can't get down the lane to collect..... Like I said its a long story.

Is it worth me trying Steven Cox ?

I would obviously need someone local to Stoke to keep the costs down.... wouldn't want them travelling 100's of miles just to shift it 1/2 mile down the road.....

you could try asking a banger racer as I see most of them oven trucks with Hiab cranes

If it only needs getting to the end of the road, try contacting local farmers, would be an easy enough job with a telehandler.

Don't know what to tell you, but all I can say is, he picked up a Universal Mill from Lincoln and delivered it across country to me in South Wales without issues; very professional, I would use his services again.

I recently moved my Colchester Student down the garden on a small trailer, winched it onto the trailer using the winch on my Transit, then jacked the trailer up and refitted the wheels, someone with a small slide bed recovery truck could probably do it, your problem if finding them! Stoke is too far from me........... or a farmer as suggested,

A lot of pallet companies have trucks with a Moffet up their chuff, they are non too shabby off road and are more than capable of picking up 700kg. Just saying.

looks like a nice set up there.....

some sort of hydraulic drive, no smoke from the belt! pas as well, bought it as a non runner, blocked air filter that looked brand new, trailer is an unbraked 750kg max but with 8 ply tyres, was a road works traffic light trailer, brought my Harrison home from work on it best £350.00 I spent in a while.... and no that is not me in the pictures, my slave! he wants to learn mechanical things,

The seller did exactly this and it seems its sorted. Its now to timing.... getting the farmer on site at the same time as the haulage contractor.... why is nothing ever easy when it comes to amateur engineering.....
