Help needed, faulty circuit on Clarke Pro-90

The light on the front panel illuminates when welder has overheated.
On my Pro 90 the sensor is mounted on the alloy plate of the main rectifier unit and should automatically reset when it cools down.

The welder is now working, which im really really please about I had a dry joint on the transformer, once i sorted that out its back up and running...................BUT,
about the light on the front, its always been like that, and never cut out. When the welder is cold the thermal switch is closed (tested with continuity), never tried it hot.
Im wondering now if ive put the wires on correctly, as when i got it all the wires were muddled up from the previous owner trying to get it working, the power switch was even wired up as a direct short.

Thankyou guys for pointing this out, ill have to maybe shuffle the wires about to rectify this problem before i cook the main transformers.

If i cant work it out would you mind looking at a photo of how i got it wired up?

the cutout should be connected to pin 2&3 & the transformer probably where you have highlighted the green link someone must have put that link in as i dont see a reason for the link the board could have been made without it

Ill have a gander at it tomorrow after work.

Regarding the link wire, it looks legit, on one side its labeld 240, and the other 220. The 220 side is the open circuit side, which is not connected to the transformer.
Looks like the link wire takes current to the outermost transformer pin?

the supply to the transformer should be broken by the thermal cutout which is just a heat operated switch and as you know if that transformer doesnt work nothing works

Not had chance to look at it today. But had another look at the circuit diagram.

I must have it wired up incorrectly, as if the thermal switch is closed as it should be when cold (and is), the current would take the route straight to transformer. If it was open it would go through the lamp instead. Could you spare a quick minute to see if i read the diagram right>

thermal switches are normally closed and open when they heat up to interrupt the current bottom one looks correct
