Hello, long time lurker first time (I think) poster.
tldr; I think I've found a bargain - am I walking into a bad deal?
I'm usually here for the welding but see there is a lot of machine tool knowledge.
I've won a mini lathe on ebay and am going to inspect it tomorrow. If happy, I hand over £400 cash, leave with my lathe and get on with making chips (I plan to use it for making small pulleys, model parts and the like)
Seller sells lots of vintage electronics and machinery. Listing suggests this is a personal, not business, sale and the seller has used the machine without issue.
I've been reading lots of buyer's guides etc so should be able to fairly competently kick its tyres tomorrow. Trouble is, I've been unable to identify it. Initially looked to me like one of the smaller myfords, but it's clearly not.
So a couple of questions:
(1) does anyone know the identity of this machine? If so I'd be grateful as I can look up any common faults; and
(2) Lathe comes with lots and lots of tools and accessories (tools, chucks, gauges, calipers etc), these alone make it seem worth the £400 - but I'm willing to be told I'm mistaken.
Many thanks,
Steve
