Recommend ..the CM927 ..but as above Centrebrand do the same same thing for less ..you can take in the room your in with you wireless
going into the boiler is a grey area for the electrician who has to wire it up
its going into the gas or flue side of it your not as long as you dont break any seals however interesting part of that and an electrician has to do is repair some models inseide of a sealed boiler.
as long as you know what your doing your fine if youve done electronics or electrics the rules are simple enough
not all boilers work with a pump thats why i said check your manual
vailiant did do some models that dont start a pump

Try tapping the diverter valve, whilst setting it off, if it’s stuck the overheat kicks in as the hot water has nowhere to go,
Am looking at the Honeywell CM927 as a replacement for the paperclip bodge.
Difference is searching and finding the answers vs just asking.
One relies on past experience the other is blind faith.
He is searching & trying to find the answer though, no matter what the resource is, even what's printed in a book could be wrong.
At the end of the day you can't gain experience on anything without having a go/trying yourself.
This is the problem I have with the 'Snowflake' people of today, those who want to ban/stop people from doing stuff because it maybe dangerous. Removing band saws from schools for example, how on earth are the future generations going to be able to make/fix anything if they've never had the chance to master the use of tools/equipment?

I'd get a good old honeywell rotary knob thermostat - they seem to last forever. I fitted a new one at my wifes place last year after the old one went a bit weird, I think it had been in since the mid 80's.
The boiler is staying as long as it can though - good old baxi bermuda back boiler with a gas-u-fire in the front for when my wife freezes. I recon it will go on forever.
not in the long run 30 years and its living on borrowed time my baxi boiler was 34 years old and started leaking on an elbow and the cast iron boiler was corroded so out it came the new ones dont save nowhere near what the bumf tells u but thats all that is available nowdaysI fitted a Baxi Bermuda to replace a leaking Parkray in our previous cottage, this would be nearly 30 years ago. I bought it second hand for £60 & bought a new fire front. I noticed that the cottage has just changed hands again & the new owner has ripped it out, I think the new owners might regret that.
