Just joined up as it's time to start asking questions, but I've been lurking for a few weeks now. Great site and forum, with lots of good stuff to read!
I'm currently pretending to restore a Datsun 240Z, so yes, I know a thing or two about rust!
On the welding front I did a 10 week evening class at the local college which covered gas welding and brazing and MIG, unfortunately their TIG machine was broken so didn't get to play on that. I've got a SIP 150DP MigMate which I probably wouldn't have if I'd known of this site a year or so ago, but anyway it's doing the job and I haven't had any major problems with it. Probably about time I changed the liner on it admittedly
Anyway enough waffle! More hugely intelligent and penetrating questions to follow I promise
