top site by the way, very usefull for the novice like me.

I have recently bought a sip 130 to lean with and have practiced about 3 times. Im still pants but im sure ill get the hang of it!

the reason im learning is i have a mini with two small holes in the front floor pan that need welding!

For the sake of completeless, welcome to the forum.

You mentioned a noise problem in the mini. I forgot to ask - what have you got in there? I get the impression it's a fairly special mini.

Hi Malcom, thanks for the email about the noise problem, much appreciated.

For sealing the bulkhead, would silicon sealer or similar mastic type be ok to put around pipe gromits etc? Also the open cell foam, where is the best place to source that?

My mini started life as an 89 mayfair with a 998 engine. I have modified it a fair bit over the years, and I now have a bored out metro engine that is 1380cc. Last time I took it to the rollers it got 108bhp at the flywheel which I was very chuffed with.

The diff ratio is 3.44:1 and im running 10'' wheels so at motorway speeds, the revs are high and it resonates quite a lot inside the car.
It accelerates like a scaleded cat, but is hell on long journeys!
