Hi all, my name is Charlie and I'm 25 years old. I decided around 2 months ago that I wanted to try my hand at welding. I bought myself an R-Tech (controversial on this forum from what I've seen
) Multi 251. So far I have only used the MIG function, but it can do ARC and DC TIG as well, which I am planning on doing when I grow some balls. I've been lurking around this forum since starting to research welding, and having not been part of any forum for a long time now, I thought I'd join here. It's a nice change from Facebook groups!
I've been absolutely loving it so far, my welds are far from professional, but they're getting ok for a weekend warrior only 2 months in, I'll chuck a few pictures in. I'm finding I'm literally running out of things to weld!
I started with extending a metal workbench that was lying around by 30cm, it didn't go to plan. Although it's together and has my chop saw on it, it's a bit wobbly!
My next project was making a wood incinerator bin, which I made out of 2 gas bottles, it works really well. (I am well aware of the dangers of working with gas bottles!)
I've made a few barn door handles out of 1 inch rebar.
I have made an assortment of "rocket stoves" 40mm, 80mm, 100mm and 150mm box. (the 150mm box rocket stove is a behemoth!)
The last thing I made was a trailer that is to be used offroad only from some scrap 50mm box section, its soul purpose is to carry pallets and IBC's full of water. I'm quite proud of the trailer as it's fairly flat and square, I've taken some up close pictures of the welds on it, which are far from professional, but it won't be going on the road, so not to worry
