Hello All, i must say site is very good pack full of info and that is why i join hoping to get some helpful advice for mig welding.
At the present moment i am doing welding for my other half ford transit pickup truck. Just a couple of questions i would like to ask.
1. replacement wings and front arch kits - do these need to be welded on or can i use the adhesive a guy gaves us in the shop and said you can stick then on with that no need to weld?.
2. there are a couple of patches here and there and these are on the chassis rail at rear - i persume the plates to go on have to be welded with a full seam weld and not spot welded? Am i am right about this since it is structral or does it not matter?
3. On one side of van one of the inner panels (not the inner wing) the section which goes from the inner wing to the outer wing, does this have to be welded with a full seam or can it be spot welded?.
4. I notice that there is something called seam sealant which you can use if you have spot welded panels on.Would this be ok to use on the panels to be fitted?.
I am very sorry for the long post but since i am a newbie and i really want to learn welding much help is appreicated. Oh 1 last thing i cant seen to find any info on the mig welder i have got. It is a superweld 200 with plenty of knobs to twist, you can tell what 1 or 2 do but just wondering if anyone can tell me where i can get info for it.
Thanks for reading my post and speak soon to some of you i hope.
