Completely alien to me this subject, but I do intend to learn and hopefully receive good advice from members and by reading previous posts.

In the meantime I really need helping out. I need a sill repairing on my car and don't have a clue. Is there anyone on here who can help with the work? More than happy to pay for materials, labour etc. Also tea/coffee and biscuits will be available free of charge.

Hello, welcome aboard.

Sit back, chill and read the forum and you will pick up a load of advice.

Think long and hard about what you plan to weld and how often, that will guide you on the welder what is best to suit your needs.
Ask here and we will help.

Then get the welder, set it up and weld away and see what happens.
Then ask for advise, we will mock and help. But all in a good way.

Best way to learn.

i suspect your after just a person to weld the part on for you and call it a day from there

if you have been quoted from garage to do it at a reasonable amount let them do it

its not a nice job to do and its ackward as hell if you havent got the access to the vehicle easy enough

to cut out the bad part then clean up the areas around it before you can even weld it I should know i do it at the local garages

Welcome aboard, Andrew. That rust will almost certainly be more extensive than it looks and that'll only be established once the job is started. Where exactly on the car is the rust? If it's near a jacking point, suspension parts or even seat belt mounting be prepared for big costs.

This request has been posted on here before and the resounding response seemed to be "No thanks"
