Hey guys what's up!

I just bought my first welder last week. I had to buy it because I had some guy run me off the road and I wrecked my car retty bad. It has alot of cosmetic damage. I plan on replacing body panels and what not on it.

I have welded before but it was with an arc welder and an aluminum feed welder. Now that was back in my teen years and early 20's. So right now I am trying to relearn myself how to weld.

I will probably have alot of questions about welding, as I have never used a mig welder before. So I hope to make some new friends and learn alot here!

Welccome to the forum. You should find MIG easier than other types of welding. With mig you can hold the torch in both hands, and the filler metal takes care of itself so long as the wire is set to an appropriate speed. All the theory is much the same as other welding.

What car do you have? You must be attached to it if you want to make repairs rather than let the insurance company pay for another one.

Yes I love my car dearly. It is a 96 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. It is really hard to find another one around the states. As everyone is hanging on to them that have them.
This is a great site that you guys have here. I have told many of my friends about it already.

I am unsure of what you are talking about. I didn't know the called them series H & J. I do know that I have $5000.00 under the hood alone and don't want to lose that.

I´m guessing that you have the series J, the 4 cylinder with intercooled turbo and 210 horses, correct? (Nice car)

Yes that is correct. It has a 50 trim turbo now and a 31" intercooler on the front. I am running 2 1/2" mandrel bent pipping. 3" Apexi Dunk exhaustfrom the turbo back. It also has a 40 mm HKS wastegate. And a TurboXS RFL blow off valve.
That is all I can think of off the top of my head. Even in stock form this car is fast and fun to drive. I should be in the low 12 second range in a 1/4 mile run. I have yet to take it to the track since I got it put together.
