Hello from another newbie

Hello.
Brilliant site with loads of information. Thanks for the tutorials Malcom. It must be painful for all the experienced pro's but I am mainly interested in the 'which budget mig' and the 'can i make a budget mig work properly' threads. Will be doing a 16 week evening course at my local college soon. Now stuck with choosing the right machine Sealey 185, small Portamig, or a tired bigger name brand off evil-bay... too much to consider in a way.

Welcome to the forum. I'd go for the Portamig for general use over a Sealey or anything worn. You don't get any more functionaly but everything works very nicely and is very solidly built.

There's a new tutorial on it's way (next 24 hours) - hopefully it will provide enough info to heckle your tutors at college. And if they come back with good answers you should be good for heckling over here.
