Hello from a complete Newbie :)

Hello all,

I'm a complete novice to the world of MIG welding (not even used one yet ) but been thinking about getting one for ages. Luckily for me I came across this site and it's already saved me from making a possible wrong purchase so a massive thank-you already! lol

I'll more than likely be asking questions as soon as the tinkering starts which will hopefully be pretty soon

Hi,

Well my car is in being completely refurbed (Nissan 300zx twin turbo) and I've been up there a lot watching them use a welder. Today they were making the back end of the car and thought to myself really have to invest in a welder I'll be learing for fun so I'll be able to tackle what ever projects come up

hi vijay, welcome to the forum, im brand new to the forum and to welding also, im in the same mind as you that i just want to learn to weld for a hobby and for what might spring up later on, ive just purchased my welder and have absolutley no experience but my first lesson will be tomorrow with a load of scrap metal ive been given

What welder did you buy? I'm looking at the Clarke 135te as my first choice.

it cost me a few quid but i bought a kemppi minarc mig 150, it looks a pretty sweet bit of kit and i cant wait to try it tomorrow, im just waiting on a regulator to arrive through the post, for now im going to pinch my cousins, nissan 300zx, sweet deal there, im driving a R33 GTST

"A few quid" sounds pricey! lol Nice car, the bodyshop where my Z is being done has just finished doing an R33
