Hello...and HELP!

Hi there.
I'm new to this forum but not new to forums in general, so I kind of know the ropes.
I need to ask if any of you guys have had a problem with the spool feed on Clarke welders.
I bought mine from Machine Mart last november and after putting it together it worked fine.
I left it unused for a couple of months and then when I went to use it again,the spool feed refused to work...I can hear a switch clicking in the machine when I pull the trigger but the spool refuses to turn.
It feels free enough and turns by hand so i'm wondering if theres a problem in the motor?
I've checked the trigger and it seems to be fine apart from a loose contact on the trigger button itself.
Really, I just want to know if anyone has experienceed something similar and that it's not something simple that I've missed before I get in touch with MM.

Welcome to the forum, I've moved this to the correct section.

Take the pressure off the feed roller and see if the roller rotates with no load when you pull the trigger.

Check the wires on the motor, sometimes a bit of help to make it turn helps, the bearings are normally brass and they can stick to the shaft, oh and welcome

It's not something silly like the wire feed speed knob turned right down?, one of the welders I used at work had the knob positioned just right for the torch harness to drag across it and turn it down, took me ages to work out what was happening

Check the motor as above then check the wire isn't stuck in the tip, unscrew it and see if it will feed through.
