Anyone use this stuff?

I am rebuilding an engine (more on that later ) and even though it has paper & cork gaskets, I need some kind of sealant each side of the gasket for extra sealing and locate the gasket a bit,if that makes sense.

Would heldite be suitable for that?

use hylomar , it was good enough for rolls royce

As below, Hylomar Blue is what you want, great stuff used it extensively on tractors/plant and the disco and never had it fail yet.

let it sit for a few mins after your apply to allow the solvents to avaporate and only a very very light smear the thickness of your finger prints...sorry if ime telling gran to suck eggs but i used to build motorcycle motors in my past life

The Hylomar or the Heldite?

I have both,but want to use the Heldite because it has a brush on the cap and the gaskets are a bit big
Only thing I never used it for anything like this,and want to check if its suitable or not

you wont need a brush if its just a gasket coating..finger jobbie you dont want it getting on the inside of the part or motor and ending up in oil ways.. my own personal view on this is if it has gaskets and not just mating surfaces ide smear very lightly with grease on water jackets and leave dry on air or oil containing surfaces but thats my own views and how i work

Personally Used Lots And Lots Of Blue Hylomar On Bikes Years Ago

Am I Being Thick But Does Antifreeze Have Ethanol In It As Your Heldite Does Not Like It.
