height of a bridgeport or clone

Does anyone know the height of a bridgeport or clone as I think I might have problems getting one to my new shed..

I think they're a nat's gentleman sausage over seven feet but the head can be spun upside down to make it a little lower, might be enough to get through a doorway?

I can measure mind tomorrow for you. I will fit in a standard garage without issue. And you can tilt the head or remove it to get it through a door.

I think it was Spark plug who had a thread with loads of pictures showing how to get it completely apart to fit in a van, that might help.

just so happens i took this pic this morning of this bridgeport in this room thats just under 8ft ish high it fitted easily.

How high have you got it?

Not sure but I can walk under it with 6 inch to spare ish......lol I am only 5 feet 8 though. Once in the shed it should be 8 foot 6 sloping to 8 feet. But this needs to be determined. It's the 6 metre center beam that is the killer....it can't go much higher and need to be held up by steel bar.....bridged across door way.

Something 6 foot won't clear my garage door, an Ajax turret mill clears no problem, when you swivel the head.
My big mill was a bit of pain, even after taking the Z axis servo motor off, I had to remove the door, then cut
a section out of the front of the garage!

It's a bit like saying how long is a piece of string. You need to know the model number to know the size of a machine. You can get a little turret machine or a big turret machine.
