Heidenhain encoder connectors

Hi all
is it possible to change out the Heidenhain display on my newly purchased Bridgeport to a swanky new dro but use the original encoders , it currently has 9 pin 22mm connectors and new consoles have rs232 type , is it possible to change the connector type or is it a complete encoder swap out to match the new console .

The company I got my new DRO from supplied these:

I don't know how much they are on their own as they came with my panel but might be easier than replacing the plugs.

One of the ones in the link, load better than the old Heidelhann units, I would have to sit down and scratch my head now if I had to manually work out A PCD.
