Hi,

that's beautifull, a work of 'art'.

Looks like a lot of fun building and using it. As you say, it's even better when people realise it's a one-off special and what you've built it from.

Does it have any kind of suspension or is that all in the tyres?

Great fun little project but as Shenion spotted, some of those welds are pretty appalling to be brutally honest.
Unfortunately, as you probably know, grinding them down might make them look better but an unsound weld is an unsound weld however nice it may look.
Still a very good thread though, welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks, guys. The "bad welds" I did were ground entirely off, then reshot, being more careful the second time around. I still had some slag and spatter here and there, but an afternoon of grinding and polishing took care of (most of) that. I know, my welds weren't looking too great near the beginning - appaling is a good word, and far too true! - but they ARE getting better as I practice more and more.

No, this is one little project I don't ever plan on selling, although I've already had several offers. Sorry, it's a one-off piece, ain't gonna be another like it .... And if I lean too far back, yes, it IS a wheelie machine - most of my weight IS sitting almost directly over the rear axle, after all! Suspension is all "air ride" ... whatever air is in the tires, that's it. Sure is fun to see the looks on faces when I pull this out of the back of the truck and fire her up ....

I'm also one of the moderators over on pocketbikeplanet.com, a site dedicated to pocketbikes. Got this little beast on there, too, along with some of the custom parts I built for my rat-pocketbike.
