Heavy duty handles - for what??

I've got 5 of these big alloy handles but have no idea what their intended use is. Certainly too big for drawers but the centre hole suggests a lock. Any thoughts?
Seem to be good quality but unbranded.

Mine (1989) had the two handle grips but the lock was flush with the outside, not stepped back. Don't know if they were all like that?

They would be stainless or chromed alloy usually.

Those are part of a "sliding systems" drawer pull.
The hole in the center houses a push button that unlocks the drawer. Common for van racking systems etc.

Unfortunately they are not much use without the rest of the bits though!
(Aside from using them for other things of course)

It's probably common enough to find the handles individually. I've made up a few drawers where I have just cut a round hole in the panel and flush-mounted the button with the moving parts behind and not used the handle part but it was cheaper to buy the whole kit and discard the handle than to buy all the other parts individually.

I believe the original design is a Southco product. (Those are always branded and £££) There are also a few other people making copies at various levels of quality. I expect the dimensions are on the link above if you wanted to check yours matches.

They seem to be available in 2 finishes as well. Anodized and a powder-coat (or maybe some sort of baked texture paint?)

Look at the mounting holes and see if they are black inside. If not (ie. they have been tapped after coating) be careful if you use stainless fasteners as they'll seize in fairly quickly.
