heavy duty g clamps

Afternoon all..
Can you guys recommend a good set of heavy duty g clamps..sick to death of cheap ones where the ends fall off....cheers...

Good quality clamps are worth their weight in gold (and that is almost what they cost) I like either Carver camps or Bessey clamps in various sizes. Just a coincidence I managed to pick up 3 Carver clamps this morning at a bootsale, only 6" ones but a gift at £10-00,

OK cool.will look those up..nothing worse than clamping up to find the end has fallen off and rolled under the work bench ..

If you cant stretch to a Carvers, Piher clamps are good, ive half a dzen which have taken some stick over the eight or so years I have had them. Not even so much as a bent handle.

Just bought a load from piher, nice clamps, some of their metalwork range are very nice... not cheap tho

i cant stand G clamps
having to wind then up, more like they wind you up.
plus having the ends fall off........ argggg

+1 for the bessy clamps.

i currently have 6 of these ones.

good price at the moment too.....

and they are based in braintree. not too far from your either

the first time i brought some, if your order was over £100 then you got free delivery..

maybe possible to collect ? worth a phone call, if need be.

I recently bought some carver clamps and on first use I found them awkward being used to g clamps. The carvers have very little reach behind the jaws and you need to use packing pieces when clamping angle iron. But they give unrivaled clamping force and once you get used to them you would never use standard g clamps again.

well whoever used them the bolt ends mushroomed on the left hands one so they have had plenty of stick

Making things fit that don't want to go together

Pretty useless to me, especially as the threaded bars only reach halfway closed.

I might use them as eyes to winch heavy stuff about.
