Heavy duty castors

I'm building a fairly heavy duty workshop trolley, to move steam engine components on, up to approx 2 ton.
I'm gonna make it from 80 x 80 box etc
What sort of castors do people recommend?
How much and where from?

Sounds expensive.
For new things like that I generally begin looking on RS components. They have a good range and its easy to find what you want usually. Once I've found the product I want, I look elsewhere for a cheaper price.

Oh and you can search castors on RS components by their rated SWL.

Assuming 4 castors, I think the general rule is MAX load /3, in your case the castors would need to be rated >650kg each. Try...

DIY chain and you can get the heavy duty ones for the same price!

I managed to source some ex hospital bed ones which I plan to put on my rollover jig.

The patient didn't like it much!!!
