Just bought this.
It's a heated water tank for laboratory's. Going to repurpose it as my citric acid tank as the heating elements & stat are outside the tank where they don't get dissolved by the CA mix. I'm on my 2nd deep fat fryer & the thermostat is wrecked already, I left the elements in the first one & they dissolved in a few days!
The element is mounted within a rubbery pad that's glued to the bottom of the tank. Problem is the glue has failed in all the pink patches, letting those areas over heat because they're not attached to the cold water tank! On the bottom lh corner it got so hot it fried the overheat cutout switch!
I want to glue those areas back on, can anyone recommend a glue that can regularly withstand 100 deg c? Needs to be able to be spread thin & non insulating to give the element good contact with the tank, so silicon type ones probably not suitable.
I think I have a bottle of the adhesive used to glue rope seals onto stoves, would that work?
