it about sums it up realy some of the jobs i used to go to on large refurbs a lot of electrical stuff just a year old got ripped out and dumped . i could have got over 100x 6 foot twin fittings in mint condition for nowt think i took about a dozen the rest just got skipped . havent the time when your on good money to take them and store. thats lifeAs sad as it is there often isn't the time to place/sell factories full of old machines, no place for these in a modern machine shop and the export of older machines has dropped off as developing countries catch up or want better. Not many nippers interested in the trade and aside of the hobbyist or collector the only commercial interest is the scrap man.

We get a good yearly intake of apprentices - but as you say, in a modern machine shop where we already don't compete on price with cheap foreign labour, there is no place or old, worn, time consuming machines, especially ones you can't get parts for.As sad as it is there often isn't the time to place/sell factories full of old machines, no place for these in a modern machine shop and the export of older machines has dropped off as developing countries catch up or want better. Like a few have said, its just time moving on
They are too big for most hobbyists and too old for a modern machine shop
