Mini digger overheated, radiator completely blocked with K Seal. Burst the plastic header tank and done the head gasket.
Has been an epic job to clear. Several treatments of Sentinel X800 central heating cleaner has cleared most of it, but still a way to go, but anyway ........
Machine is early nineties and new header tank NLA. Used one (can only find one) is £90 plus carriage, and I don't see the point of paying that much for a 30 year old plastic item, so bought this aluminium one instead. Old one was screwed to an unsuitable bracket so I cut that off.
Problem now is how to fix it in place.
The yellow part is the fuel tank, and the problem is that I cannot space it away from the tank wall at all , as it is very close to the steel tube, which has a rubber air hose and jubilee clip over it. I cannot get access to the inside of the tank to put any sort of bolts/nuts/screws in it, then seal them somehow. I can remove and drain the tank no problem though. There is nowhere else I can put it, as once the engine if back together, its all quite snug in the engine bay.
Only other thing I could do, is JB Weld it. I know it will hold OK, but I'm not sure its a good idea, in case I need access in the future.
Unless anyone else has any ideas ?
